Architecture exists, like cinema, in the dimension of time and movement.

At 82 stories and 505,000 square feet, 53W53 is a 1,050-foot-high tower adjacent to the Museum of Modern Art in Midtown Manhattan. It is programmed to be a mixed-use building that will include a three-story, 50,000-square-foot expansion to the museum’s galleries and 145 luxury condominium units.

The elegant, refined interior spaces at 53 West 53 are designed by noted architect Thierry Despont. Complementing Jean Nouvel’s design, these homes offer a 21st century vision of the gracious urban living for which New York is celebrated.

Interior designer André Fu, of Hong Kong-based studio AFSO, played off this exterior when creating this peaceful 36th-floor model residence. “I have paid particular attention to Nouvel’s architecture by celebrating the unique diagrid detail into the way we articulate the flow of the apartment,” Fu says. “I believe my work revolves around an aesthetic that embraces cultural nuances, and it is quintessentially an aesthetic that is relaxed and calm.”

Complementing Nouvel's innovative design, these Midtown Manhattan condominium residences offer a 21st century vision of the gracious urban living for which New York is celebrated. The 53W53 seamlessly blends with the Museum of Modern Art, adding a new landmark to the New York skyline that combines art and culture.
