Reduce complexity to simplicity, the design principle of "less is more" is one of the characteristics of minimalist style. Belgian designer Frederic Kielemoes, one of the most iconic figures in minimalist design, takes "less is more" to its extreme. In his design, from interior decoration to furniture, they should be simplified to the absolute state that can not be simplified any more, so that architecture itself can be sublimated into architectural art.
The V Sint-Andries house is one of Frederic Kielemoes' designs. The interior of the house is rich in color compared to other works of the designer, but the space is still presented as a minimalist design due to the soft contrast between colors.
Every design explores the delicate relationship between the function of the project and its surroundings and unique artistic vision. The design of the V Sint-Andries house has an obvious modern aesthetic, but it does not feel cold, but radiates a warm and inviting feeling. The perfect contrast between natural materials such as wood and marble surrounds the home, giving it a refined look.
Clear line and different furniture colour undertook clear distinction inside the house, having the colour that differs at other space in every space. Smooth lines of human flow allow occupants to easily reach the target space without obstruction. Glass Windows frame the landscape while introducing natural light. The louvres are designed to open and close on demand, allowing natural light to be controlled and allowing privacy while remaining open.
