With stunning views of Sydney harbour and the city, this elegant family home Hill House enjoys a quiet and luxurious atmosphere with all the attributes the owner was looking for. Decus Interiors principal Alexandra Donohoe Church designed the interior perfect for owners because it is considered calm, a luxury home that is whispered rather than shouted.
Designed by Luigi Rosselli Architects, this hilltop home has wide views due to its high elevation. Hill House is an extensive modification of the development application submitted by the original owners. The purpose of Alexandra's design is to give the owner a classic and modern feel, while catering to the taste of the owner's husband and wife; The wife likes color, while the male owner wants strong masculine lines.
Upon entering Hill House, Sydney's cityscape and waterfront views unfold within the House. The living room opens onto a large balcony, providing ample space for the owner to dine and entertain while admiring and enjoying the microwavy water below. The material is inspired by the basic hues of wood and travertine. A chocolate-coloured sterling silver floor distinguishes the entrance and accentuates the curved staircase, while neutral travertine tiles provide a soft undertone for the shared space.
Most importantly, the client's personality is expressed throughout the home, while lighting also plays an important role in enhancing the interior environment. The kitchen is dominated by black; The open-plan dining room and living room are partially separated by a functional bar area, topped with corrugated glass lockers and custom wall panels that warm the dining environment.
