The library and municipal archive in Grandola, Portugal, was designed by local design studio Matos Gameiro Arquitect. Grandola's new library and municipal archives are accessible through a set of palm trees that form the front square, which has been renovated to remove all elements of noise and conflict. The building's massive walls and Southern-style abstract forms create a sense of mystery and inspire people to explore. The first floor is the reception space, public areas for exhibitions and displays, and the children's reading room; At the top, the archive area and adult reading room open to a balcony overlooking the square.
