Located on Lidingö, just outside Stockholm's city center, this house was designed by the design studio Studio Lawahl for a family of two adults and two children. The dark red brick villa is located on a small hill in a cozy residential area with many mid-century houses. 

The house needed a major overhaul to suit the family and a complete renovation was carried out, redesigning the layout of the house as well as all the finishes and aesthetics. The design of the house was developed and implemented in different stages and the project was allowed to grow room by room to the final result they see in the pictures.

Studio Lawahl is known for their use of natural materials such as dark woods and beautiful stones, and people see examples of this throughout the house. The vintage objects found in most of the villa's spaces create a unique and personalized character. 

The site-built elements are also a signature of Studio Lawahl and can be found in many of the rooms; the office storage with bench, the kitchen, the bathrooms, the bedroom wall panel and bedside tables and so on. In several of these cases, the material teak, a wood that gives a warmth and elegance and is the studio's favorite when it comes to wood.
