Naver 1784

The question of "What should NAVER's new headquarters' GREEN look like?" has been a fundamental consideration for us since the inception of this project. Regarding the NAVER 1784 project, it is divided into two parts: the basement (cafeteria) and the 28th floor (private restaurant),this case mainly for the the basement (cafeteria) .

While there are recycling and reuse methods for various natural resources within PCB boards, I also learned that only a fraction of the E-Waste generated worldwide is recycled, with the rest often ending up in landfills.

The former NAVER headquarters, known as the Green Factory, was an innovative endeavor that integrated GREEN into office spaces, reflecting NAVER's values and vision. Over time, as we contemplated the values that the new headquarters' GREEN should embody, this experience sparked our creative ideas.

We defined NAVER's GREEN for the new headquarters as "," signifying a shift from "capturing GREEN" to "reducing GREEN." This concept encompasses not only the natural green color but also the idea that even grayscale, if interpreted in the context of its meaning, can also be considered GREEN.

To bring this concept to life, we have purified discarded computer components and PCB boards, materials that represent the identity of an IT company and are among the most consumed resources, to integrate them as elements within the entire underground F&B space and the 28th-floor VIP restaurant. The innovative use of these discarded materials, such as art walls and finishes, not only serves the purpose of recycling but also encourages us to directly confront the subjects we should be more cautious about.
