To transform the 1880s miners cabin into a modern ski resort while retaining the historic structure, Workshop APD designed a modern extension space that retains the original gable and cross-gable structure. The interior light, brightness and comfort of the striking, context-related contemporary house offers a unique warm retreat each season.
Workshop APD is a New York-based architecture and interior design studio founded in 1999 by founders Matt Berman and Andrew Kotchen. The studio specializes in luxury home design and high-end commercial development. They are not bound by a project type or a single aesthetic, but are committed to designing works that are innovative and intelligent, while seeking a balance of rationality and restrained sensibility.
