This project is located in Tangxia Town, Ruian City. The residence is a west-facing room with a horizontal LDK layout. The west-facing window overlooks the Tanghe River and mountain scenery. The beautiful view and indoor lighting allow the landscape and sunlight to permeate the interior, making nature and sunlight the best filters, providing a more comfortable atmosphere and mood in the indoor space.
The owners are a young couple who love the outdoors. They hope that their new home can incorporate elements of nature and provide a sense of comfort when returning home. Therefore, the design utilizes more natural materials, including natural wood veneer and teak flooring. The natural marble was specifically customized with a matte finish to reduce the luxurious feel of shiny stone materials. For soft furnishings, natural linen curtains and sofas were used to create a more relaxed atmosphere in the indoor space.
In terms of indoor structure, the original four-room layout was modified. Due to the small entrance hallway, the design eliminated the entrance hall between the front door and the small room, opting for double facing doors to enhance the sense of ceremony and spatial extension upon entry. The hard decoration design does not employ excessive techniques; instead, the space is kept as clean and tidy as possible, leaving the stage and space for greenery and soft furnishings.
We often contemplate what design can truly bring to a home. Is it necessary to pile on more materials and design techniques to create a good space? A home often carries the memories of a family's past and aspirations for the future. Comfort and a connection to nature have always been my principles and pursuits, allowing both the mind and body to rest fully, making returning home an enjoyment. This is the true significance of design for a home.
