Juma Architects

Founded in 2009 by Mathieu Luyens & Julie van De Keere, JUMA Architects is an architectural design firm based in Ghent, Belgium, specializing in the creation of elaborate and custom designs. Their design aesthetics are modern and minimalist, with caution using light, space, emotions and unique features of each location. From the concept stage to the fine details of materials and furniture design are thoughtful.

Julie van De Keere (02/02/1984) graduated in 2007 with a master's degree in architecture from Sint-Lucas in Ghent, Belgium. After that, she worked at the Conix architect in Antwerp. Mathieu Luyens (27/01/1984) also graduated in St. Lucas in the same year. His first company was at Ibiza. Working in different countries of different types of houses has opened up new perspectives in architecture. During his time at Belgium, Mathieu & Julie quickly realized that they wanted to start their own office.

Their goal is to make us a passionate designer and space builder while efficiently creating a cost-effective and personalized space for our clients. The symbiosis between function, aesthetics and cost is a thoughtful layering. From experience, creative application of appropriate materials, price, aesthetics and function is essential. This translates into refined detail, ensuring a low-key luxury experience. The design of the JUMA architect is the result of many needs and applications, achieving all architectural emotions, an unrestricted, clear creative design.

    • Villa RS

Villa RS is a minimal residence located in Kruisem, Belgium, designed by JUMA Architects. JUMA was commissioned to design a new house on a hill in the Flemish Ardennes. The north side of the plot offers stunning views of the surrounding fields with picturesque church towers in the distance.
    • Project DT

The old house has been revitalized by the sensibility of Juma Architects.
    • HH 47

The house, adjacent to the office space, is special for Juma Architects because it is their own home. HH 47's location away from the street appealed to them, while the surrounding lush greenery created a completely private area for them.
    • Project C

Since the house is located away from the street, JUMA opted to create a visual connection between the front yard and backyard.
    • Hoeve CL

Hoeve CL is a farmhouse renovation project designed to restore its lost charm and improve interior comfort.
    • Villa Baillet Latour

Juma Architects immediately saw its enormous potential when the client came to them with the question whether a renovation was worth considering.
