The interior design of Casa JR is a thoughtful and sensitive expression that engages in close dialogue with the architecture and the natural environment of Tapalpa. Seamlessly integrated into a rugged terrain with rock formations, CENTRAL’s interior proposal seeks to amplify the spatial experience through textures, materials, and atmospheres that evoke calm, warmth, and timeless sophistication.

From the main entrance, the interior invites a contemplative transition marked by a courtyard with a century-old tree, whose presence is reflected in the selection of materials and interior colors. The use of green chukum—a handcrafted Yucatecan material with natural pigmentation—adds freshness and a chromatic connection to the surrounding vegetation, creating a warm and distinctive ambiance that coexists harmoniously with the stone walls and the solidity of the architecture.

The interior layout responds to the intention of creating distinct experiences: intimate spaces for rest, featuring comfortable furniture and soft textiles, and social areas designed for gathering, where furniture arrangement encourages fluid dynamics and interaction. Decorative lighting plays a key role in defining the atmosphere; floor, table, and wall lamps accompany the shifts in natural light, particularly during the morning fog and the sunsets over the terraces.
