Aleph Geddis
I have always maintained my dedication to art,Carving in its purest form,Beautiful works cannot be completed in just a few days,I spend more time creating simple and complex geometric works.
Aleph is a dedicated traveler and craftsman. No matter where he goes, he will carry his work with him, and he will carry out carving when he is inspired. With his exploration of wood, he has been developing in a new direction and at the same time The ancient and underestimated manual wood carving technique attracts a new wave of believers.
Aleph's sculptures combine traditional craftsmanship with modernism, and are fascinated by the basic structure of the world.Aleph grew up on Orcas Island in the Pacific Northwest. He lived with woodcarvers and wooden boat builders in his childhood. He learned woodcarving from an early age. His early works drew inspiration from the stylized naturalism of native carvings on the northwest coast. Later, he drew inspiration from everything he saw during his family trip in Japan.
Aleph does not use machines, only hand tools to make extremely complex sculptures. As his works continue to develop, the simplicity and elegance of natural forms remain consistent. His recent works directly enter the overall shape of Plato's solid, experiencing it as a truth that transcends human subjectivity, and a magical existence that precedes us and will surpass us, from which we have the pleasure of experience and interaction.
