An impressive Cafe in northwest Moscow, Cafe Flight, covers more than 1,000 square meters and was designed by Alina Pimkina and Julien Albertini from The Asthetique Bureau. Restauranteur Kira Baibakova and Alexey Gubkin asked them to design a futuristic space with an aesthetic of spatial achievement but without a "Soviet" feel, a style often referred to as comfortable futurism.
The restaurant's long, narrow site is divided into sections, using an end-to-end structure that intertwines with greenery. They wanted the entire space to be visible, giving visitors a sense of spaciousness and freedom. They divided the cafe with thin metal partitions that connected supporting columns, sofas and tables.
In the cafe area, walls are covered with painted space paintings and big dream slogans. Even the door to the playroom is decorated with a futuristic gate with a broken outline. For the design studio, Cafe Flight is more than just a restaurant, it's a place that comes from a slightly different reality, while inspired by the aesthetics of sand dunes and other sci-fi movies.
Inside the enclosed VIP hall, the mirror light is appropriately reduced to increase comfort. There was a text painting on the dark wall, a large table with terrazzo tops and brass legs around it, and comfortable velvet chairs on it. The floors are natural shingles inlaid with brass stars.
