Located between the tropical jungle and the Caribbean coastline, the Tulum Treehouse was designed by CO-LAB Design Studio. Located on the vibrant, busy beach road of Tulum, it is a cultural beacon in the rapid transformation of a once sleepy village. The Tulum Treehouse contains five guest rooms, an open-air restaurant, a studio with an outdoor ceramic kiln and a store for the Mexican botanical fragrance company Xinú. Windows open to the outdoor dining area, with a huge rooftop dining table for 20 overlooking stunning views of the bush.

The makers of the project all have unusual backgrounds, but they all share a commitment to using local, organic, sustainable materials wherever possible to create a unique, beautiful and welcoming collaborative space. Locally sourced Tzalam wood contrasts with polished white cement. Light and air flow through peaceful rooms decorated with local textiles and ceramics, Oaxaca rugs and custom furniture by Mexican artisans. Like the Marrakech medina or South Beach in the 80s.
