Sydney's Decus Interiors maintains and highlights the oceanfront panoramic view of Corner House, a vibrant home with a curvy and circular theme. Decus Interiors, though, collaborated with Porebski Architects to design the Corner House for its former owner, but the team chose to develop a signature design language for the interior of the house to accommodate new clients, creating an interesting narrative that responds to their personalities and lifestyles. Rich and active Spaces are designed to cater for the entertainment of multiple friends and family members.
Expanding and contracting according to the number of occupants, informal and formal recreation areas provide Spaces for rest and gathering, an adaptable resting space. As an avid and professional chef, the spacious kitchen extends into the dining and living Spaces, which have been carefully designed to be both attractive and flexible. Floor-to-ceiling Windows connect these areas to the balconies while inviting flickering light and fresh breezes in.
In response to the site's language and previous designs, Decus Interior design adopted cobblestone shaped sofas, coffee tables and carved lounges. In the Corner room, the contrast between dark and light, hard and soft is stark, and the fully lit interior focuses on the mesmerizing artwork. This paved the way for Decus to approach furniture and finishes in an inspiring and unique way. Completely different from the typical beach and coastal aesthetic of white, blue and beige etc.
Choose a more eclectic and delicate hue, using gorgeous colors that blend subtly with the environment. These interesting shades are even more noticeable in the family lounge. Decus Interiors is known for transforming residential projects in Sydney's seaside suburbs into uplifting Interiors, drawing inspiration from coastal environments. The warm and engaging nature of the Corner Houses further supports this idea and enhances the overall experience of the home. The project is exemplary in design and material, hierarchy, and embodies the exciting appeal of living by the water.
