In November 2024, 60 Curzon, with 32 boutique apartments, has attracted worldwide attention for its outstanding quality, historical heritage and modern style. Designed by interior design studio Elicyon, it officially opened with a luxurious and artistic model home.
The site of 60 Curzon was once the site of the legendary Mirabelle restaurant, which hosted celebrities such as John F. Kennedy and Winston Churchill. This special historical value also injects a unique cultural atmosphere into the new project. To commemorate this landmark, legendary French architect Thierry Despont drew inspiration from the building's glorious history, ultimately achieving a perfect fusion of past and contemporary art.
PLP Architecture gives the building a modern feel with geometric facade lines and exquisite architectural details. Elicyon's design was conceived as a tribute to PLP Architecture's carefully crafted architectural style and pure facades.
Elicyon founder Charu Gandhi has created this 4,209-square-foot four-bedroom apartment with natural lines and a warm atmosphere through careful depiction of vintage and modern details. It is based on soft curves and rounded contours, which are coordinated with textured wallpaper, custom cabinetry and rounded furniture.
Elicyon's carefully selected collection of antique furnishings and modern decor combine to create a sense of luxury and warmth. An art Deco-style walnut side table and checked oak cabinetry in the guest bedroom, as well as a pair of low-key powder-blue armchairs in the master bedroom, energize the space and make it feel like a gallery. They are not only the embodiment of aesthetics, but also the best inheritance of history and art. It is worth noting that the textural details on the facades and furniture have also been carefully handled to harmoniously echo the geometric aesthetics of the building, creating an artistic situation where modernity and nostalgia intersect. Every element of the design has been cleverly combined to ensure that it fits perfectly with the overall style.
In response to 60 Curzon's history as a culinary destination, and in anticipation of the upcoming opening of a new restaurant on the ground floor, Elicyon has crafted a casual space that blends art with personal entertainment. The cosy public areas are characterized by intimate construction, striking an effective balance between charming sociability and comfort. Inside, custom Tamu ash veneers, antique mirrored drink cabinets, antique bar trolleys and Chappell Baby Grand pianos are a response to 60 Curzon's artistic heritage, making it an ideal venue for banquets and event salons.
Elicyon's design is not only visually refreshing, but also pays attention to every detail of the living experience. Each piece of furniture and decoration shows the unique personality of the occupants, creating an exclusive artistic atmosphere for the space. Elicyon, through a masterful design movement, has succeeded in giving 60 Curzon a quality of life that is both elegant and comfortable, as well as perfectly reflecting Mayfair's sediment history and site culture.
