Tori Tori, a Japanese specialty restaurant in Mexico City, was designed by local interior design studio Ewrawe. The restaurant is located in downtown Santa fe and is the fifth Japanese Tori Tori restaurant in Mexico City. Samurai armor and Chinese characters feature at Tori Tori, a cylindrical oak structure that covers the dark interior.
Studio Esrawe used dark walls, ceilings and floors throughout the 720-square-metre space, creating a black background and pale oak details. Inside, the geometry was redesigned as a tall cylindrical structure, equivalent to a three-story room. Inspired by the subtlety and sobering nature of Japanese craftsmanship, the tranquil and monochromatic atmosphere accentulates the scale of the space, with two suspended elements made from holm oak.
