Fiona Lynch and her team have demonstrated their unique vision of design at South Yarra Residence, transforming the living space into an oasis of tranquility. Intricate colors, interesting textures, exquisite materials, custom details and sublime furniture design create a whimsical feel for adults.

Fiona Lynch studio's artistic approach to interior design is the hallmark of the Melbourne studio, which is famous for its extremely lofty aesthetic and award-winning results. This project of South Yarra is no exception. The client wanted to create the house as a place to relax and entertain guests at the same time. As the studio replanned the dining room and formal living areas, texture was used to create an engaging space for a variety of uses.

Despite its rich character and regal proportions, the house faces west and has a small traditional window that, along with the large tree in the street, limits the natural light inside. Considerable effort was made to ensure that the rooms were warm and bright. In this process, the most important thing was to give the space a different perspective from the previous feeling.

The plans for this space were designed several years ago, and sometimes it takes time to review and adjust and decide if these plans are the right solution. The existing 'orange' wood floors were painted white and the walls were painted in lighter tones, which immediately changed the blank canvas and allowed for complex color schemes and layering in the future. Fiona Lynch used pastel shades of pink and green, as well as different textures such as tweed woven into sofas and carpets. Custom joinery flanks the fireplaces in both rooms. The formal living area features open shelves made of painted oak with lining and shelves wrapped in antique bronze.
