The interiors of Forte Forte's Los Angeles boutique are inspired by The artwork of James Turrell, balanced stones and circular gold dressing rooms. The Italian brand's art director Robert Vatilana designed the interior of the store, located at 8424 Melrose Place in Los Angeles, Forte Forte's first branch in the United States.
Vattilana called the design "an ineffable balance of geometry and organic". This is a simple and vibrant project where light becomes matter, creating an ineffable balance between geometry and the organic. The store features a gray-green enameled metal facade, with two right-angled shop Windows surrounded by a salvia green enameled metal facade with the boutique's glowing logo. The sunken front door is made of enamel wood.
Furniture ranges from pastel to bright pop colors, from large terrazzo planters and gold shelving to pink queen chairs. The bright white ceiling is lit up at the edges and the light is projected onto the textured walls, creating a neutral backdrop for Vattilana's minimalist yet eclectic design.
The changing rooms are housed in a round, bright gold pod divided into compartments. The rooms feature a mix of fluffy sea-green textiles and an array of mirrors. Individual dresses hang delicately on chequered gold threads, where a very small number of dresses are displayed.
Another prominent element of the store is the placement of two large stones in front of ethereal full-height tulle curtains, one of which forms a dramatic balance on top of the other. The stones hail from the Palm Springs Desert and are intended as a tribute to the work of former Swiss art duo Peter Fischli and David Weiss.
