Frank Gehry's new teaching and research facility for the University of Technology Sydney is now open and has been described as "the most beautiful squashed brown paper bag" (+ slide show). According to Frank Gehry, the design was inspired by a tree house. The expressive exterior form is the result of a complex interior layout, which the architects describe as "an ever-growing learning organism that contains many branches of thought, some powerful, others ephemeral and subtle".
