I use body gestures as well as symbols to give clues to each character’s internal turmoil, yet it’s their eyes that are the windows to something deeper. Inanimate objects become intimate as we see ourselves reflected in them.

Gosia's background as an illustrator at Sheridan College and her early career as a painter led to her passion for sculpture. She devoted herself to the field in 2013. She taught herself to create art sculptures that focus on "female forms". Her sculptures have been exhibited in galleries in Canada and the United States.

The dualities present in Gosia’s works - translucent versus opaque, beautiful but haunting, naturalistic and yet also surreal - parallel her interest in how we present both our external and internal selves. Through a focused creative process, she executes her sculptures by intentionally considering which gestures or expressions will reveal the unique character of each figure. One mustn’t stop at the delicate flowers or elegant curves, but rather look more closely to their eyes to catch a glimpse of their soul.

Inspired by social issues and life experience, she tries to reject darkness, horror and ugliness in her writing in order to find innocence, beauty and spirit. It is ultimately presented as an otherworldly figure that expresses her innermost feelings. Their soft expressions, elegant gestures and haunting stares inspire contemplation.
