Axel Arigato is a streetwear brand that has long been a partner with Halleroed. The brand's Berlin flagship store is located in the central Scheunenviertel neighbourhood, across the ground floor of a precast concrete building typical of post-war East Germany.

Halleroed, a Stockholm-based design studio, was tasked with coming up with a sensible and comfortable interior design scheme for the space and restoring some of the building's key features as a visual theme, a practice that has been established in all of Axel Arigato's other stores.

Instead of simply copying and pasting these elements, Halleroed mixed and matched them to create something new. This is reflected in the store's pale yellow columns, which effectively incorporate the glossy lacquer-metal finish of the London boutique, similar to the distinctive yellow accents used in the Stockholm pop-up.

Roman cave stone features prominently in the brand's Paris boutiques, where it is used to cover entire floors, as well as to form heavy shelves and plinths that surround interior columns. The sculptural plinths, which come in different shapes, sizes and textures, can be used to display different items or act as counters and curved seating for events inside the Axel Arigato store, which can hold up to 250 people.

The raw natural texture of the cave stone contrasts with the lacquered metal that was used to wrap the columns and form a series of clothing tracks that curve around the perimeter of the room. The smooth surface provides a high visual element to this space and contrasts with the organic materials, the soft nature of the stone and the soft nature of the store and the store in general.
