Belgian design studio Juma Architects has transformed an original 1970s bungalow into a contemporary Belgian villa, giving it a tranquil holiday feel. The original design lacked a lot of things, but the new design brought changes from the entrance.
The entrance was moved to a different location by the studio, and the stairs to the basement and attic were removed and replaced by two stair hatches, the end result being the release of a considerable area. The garage was also removed, not only because it also took up a larger area, but mainly because it completely blocked the most beautiful view of the garden.
The unused attic space above the garage was opened up to the roof, creating the perfect space for the kitchen. Huge lights are hung on the central kitchen island to blend in. The dining room and lounge with cozy fireplace also feature large glass glazed surfaces, allowing residents to take full advantage of natural light as well as the views of the new pool.
The bedroom and adjoining bathroom enjoy direct views, which makes the pool special. One experiences the holiday feeling of rising happiness in the whole family. The colours and materials remain light and crisp, with the studio creating black details in the window frames, door handles and light fixtures, resulting in a calm atmosphere that creates an atmosphere where residents can relax.
