Interior designer Kelly Behun has revealed her vision for a penthouse at 432 Park Avenue in New York designed by Rafael Vinoly. The home is located on the 92nd floor of a 96-story building in the heart of Manhattan. Measuring 3,977 square feet and 1,224 feet high, the house has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a powder room, a library, a laundry room, a service entrance separate from the elevator deck, and a formal entrance.
Kelly Behun customized many pieces of furniture to achieve a luxurious space. Behun's design references the building's architectural structure by using internal asymmetrical components to play to its pure geometry and respond to the facade's signature 10-foot-by-10-foot square Windows.
Kelly Behun loves this building for its simplicity. It has a rigid grid, which she believes is the reason for creating these beautiful volumes and elegant shells. For her, the project is about creating something very warm that feels like a cocoon. The view here is very exciting and something very soft is needed for balance. Because color is something that can be seen, Kelly Behun tries to pay more attention to the feel of the fabric. At sunset, you can see deep eggplant and rose colors.
Like other homes in the building, the light-filled penthouse features a windowed kitchen with marble breakfast bar, oak floors and master bathroom, marble floors and walls to match the sculpture books, and a separate tub. In addition, the facilities and services at 432 Park Avenue have been designed and managed to provide a luxury experience on par with the world's leading five-star hotels, all within a private residential environment.
