The apartment is perched above the High Line with glittering views of Hudson Yards.
It is owned by an entrepreneur and a lawyer who became so inspired with the interior design process for her NYC pied-à-terre that she left her practice to start school as an interior designer in the fall of 2023. The couple splits their time between this apartment and their primary home in Utah.
Being bold in both color and design:Warm and earthy colors, like ochre and terracotta, set the mood in the common areas while bright hues characterize the private spaces. In the living area, Lucy Harris placed a custom Carini highly-textured neutral rug to ground the room and then a 280 sofa by Pierre Augustin Rose in Pierre Frey's Teddy Mohair Nacre, the bold olive green Camaleonda chairs and a satin mustard yellow Tobi-Ishi rectangular dining table by B&B Italia.
The bedrooms and study are saturated with colors and offer immersive experiences: The primary bedroom is covered in deep indigo color with the Flora duck wall murals from Pattern Collective. The terracotta Kufri Girardo wallcovering and Zak+Fox Tail of Heaven drapery create a warm and cozy environment for the guest bedroom. “During construction of the primary bedroom, the clients moved into the guest room and found it so enchanting, they imagined they were staying in a boutique hotel,” says Lucy Harris. She also designed emerald-green custom millwork that camouflages with the Malachite wallcovering in the study that is a fully immersive color and sensory experience.
