On Alfonso XII street in Madrid, and with spectacular views over the trees of the Retiro Park, we find a 360 m2 corner apartment to renovate. We propose that the distribution with a program of 3 bedrooms is subjected to the rhythms of windows, after a careful reading of the facade, since the interior pillars were all arranged in the same line and, therefore, were difficult to absorb. In this way, we offer a distribution that takes into account the client's needs and the existing perimeter, resulting in spaces that seem original, as if the house had never been redistributed and avoiding oddities typical of later interventions.

In addition, the distribution offers a very dynamic situation of double circulation, since it is possible to surround the kitchen-dining room. On the other hand, we avoid corridors, although we achieve privacy between the rooms by arranging the secondary uses-such as pantry or dressing room-in blind spaces that help to generate deep transitions between uses, as if we fattened the walls to put these secondary uses inside them.

Sophistication for being in the city and warmth for being a home, are the objectives that we do not lose sight of when choosing materials and furniture. The combination of oak wood tones, dark for doors and light for ceilings, limestone on floors and transitions, plus lime finishes on vertical walls, and smoked mirrors on pivoting doors of the social space, offer a very clean mix visually (as the colors get along well with each other) while elegant and refined.

The decoration is proposed with a base of neutral carpets and curtains that blend in with the architecture and then complete it with a selection of pieces that, at first, do not attract attention or generate visual noise, but that, at a second glance, offer a great craftsmanship, patina or proportion providing and accompanying quality to this home.
