Barriegata is Italian for "Variegata", while "variegata" refers to "an individual with unusual white or yellow spots and stripes". How to create a non-traditional dining space with a special atmosphere, and the clever interpretation of "Barriegata" became the key to the design. The studio wanted customers to have a unique experience in a natural and unfamiliar environment, so "strange nature" was chosen as the theme of the space, which was expressed with atypical shapes, low lighting and exotic materials.

The space consists of a combination of unusual elements. Unfamiliar touches, such as the brick flooring used on the exterior and marble with unique patterns, create an unfamiliar spatial experience for the visitor. Tall plants and soft lighting create a familiar sense of comfort and relaxation. The simple forms of the structure and furniture are transformed by combining them with each other.

By rebuilding all walls and ceilings, a new facility is built on top of the existing building. Utilising the axes of the building, but not its forms, the columns on which the lifts are located are encased in rough-hewn concrete and objectified by placing counters and service desks around them, thus naturally expressing the underlying pretentious composition.Project Mark also simplifies the shapes of the structure and furniture, keeping the design simple but juxtaposing the high with the low, the large with the small, to create a variety of configurations.

When working with metal, Project Mark uses both rough and smooth finishes to break up the density of the same finish. Although the overall finish is grey, they used different shades and materials to create a sense of richness within the same colour.
