Lush and prosperous - an artistic lifestyle gallery where one can immerse in tea appreciation and slow down time
Weirui Fanzhi
Chongqing, this city of mountains and waters, is as magnificent as a splash-ink landscape painting. It is located at the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River, where layers of mountains and rolling hills meet, and a modern metropolis rises abruptly. An ancient poem says, "The mountains end where the plains begin, and the river flows into the vast wilderness." This poem aptly describes the geographical features of Chongqing. The character of Chongqing people reflects their landform, combining strength with gentleness. They are generous yet delicate, passionate yet wise. Their hospitality perfectly interprets the phrase "making guests feel at home." The people here, with their open-mindedness and meticulous enthusiasm, make every guest feel the unique warmth of the mountain city.
In the midst of bustling streets, we have carefully crafted this lush world. Every plant and every design here embodies a vibrant and lively atmosphere, providing urbanites with an elegant space where they can find peace and tranquility. Smelling the fragrance of flowers and listening to the sound of flowing water, one feels as if they are embraced by nature, yet can still sense the pulse of the city.
This pure land not only brings visual pleasure but also embodies a lifestyle. It symbolizes that amidst the hustle and bustle of urban life, one can still maintain inner calmness and elegance. Just like the lush vegetation symbolizes, one can find tranquility amidst the hustle and foster hope amidst the prosperity.
A Close Friend Who Shares the Same Soul
This project originates from the long-standing friendship between Nana, the principal of SiMian Design, and her client. The residence built for her in the past has witnessed the deep friendship between them. This time, although the client's initial intention was for an office space, after in-depth communication, we discerned his true desire - a space that can accommodate both social interaction and solitude. How to find a subtle balance between connection and separation, breaking through traditional barriers, has become our supreme challenge. As Nana said, "Art is a pure land, a glimmer of hope, and the last touch of tenderness that remains when you have no way out in the real world." This statement is not only our design guideline, but also the soul of this project.

Stepping into this serene oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, a feast for the eyes and senses is immediately presented, weaving a warm and charming atmosphere. This place is suitable for both gatherings and solitude; it is closely connected yet maintains distance. This unique design breaks tradition, offering users more possibilities. The design team has meticulously crafted a floral installation at the entrance of the space, which not only eliminates any commercial elements but also showcases the homeowner's personality and taste. Each flower and leaf has been carefully selected and arranged, growing freely in a nearly wild state, bringing a vibrant and enjoyable art of living to every visitor. Here, nature and art coexist harmoniously, creating a warm atmosphere that makes one feel a sense of returning to nature and embracing life the moment they step in.
A Serene and Romantic Corner
Gentle light and shadow envelop like a light veil, outlining a hazy yet cozy painting. The carefully selected seats resemble gentle arms, inviting the weary body and mind to immerse in them. Each tea set is a masterpiece created with ingenuity, quietly narrating the long-standing tradition of tea ceremony.
Here, every detail has been meticulously crafted, collectively weaving a spiritual haven that nourishes the soul. As one sips tea, time seems to stand still, offering a sanctuary amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, where thoughts can settle and the heart can be cleansed. This is not merely a place of respite, but a spiritual oasis where the soul can find solace. It allows every visitor to regain inner peace and clarity amidst the fragrance of tea and tranquility.
A Journey of Exploring the Cloister
Through clever spatial layout, the designer transforms every roundabout journey into a relaxing experience for the soul. This design abandons the straight-line point-to-point movement and instead adopts a winding and tortuous path, guiding people to naturally slow down their pace while strolling and experiencing a process of self-healing. Every step of movement is like an exploration, allowing people to unconsciously establish a deeper connection with the surrounding environment.
The realm of Symphonic Enjoyment
The dining area is designed as a space that promotes communication and integration. Here, we anticipate that people will naturally meet, whether it's a casual glance or a deep conversation, both can establish long-lasting and genuine emotional connections. The design of the space encourages people to discover beauty, share beauty, and create beauty during daily meals, making every gathering a wonderful memory.
Elegant House with Splendid Tea Aroma
The design of the tea space transcends the traditional concept of a tea table, blending the vibrancy of tea with modern lifestyles to create a multifunctional space that is suitable for both tea appreciation and leisure. The internal water dripping device stands out as a highlight in this space, gently breaking the calmness of the water surface and creating ripples and mist, which evoke a serene and mysterious atmosphere, making one feel as if they are immersed in a tranquil Zen world.
The Serene Area of Buddhist Niches with Zen-inspired White Space
The Buddha display area at the end of the corridor provides a space for introspection and meditation with its minimalist yet natural design. The designer cleverly utilizes subtle differences in various elements, colors, and lighting to create a simple and tranquil space. The design of this area is not only rooted in history and culture, but also conveys an eternal natural aesthetics through the clever use of lighting.
The Harmonious Waltz of Light and Night
In terms of details, light has become the soul of the space. It shines through the window views from different angles, interacting with swaying green plants and casting vivid and layered shadows. These shadows change with the passage of time and the change of seasons, adding a dynamic beauty to the indoor space. Every dance of light and shadow seems to tell a story about time and nature, allowing people to feel the rhythm and tranquility of life within it.
Design Conclusion
In this fast-paced era, we have created a space for "sensing life and returning to the essence". Using tea as a medium, we guide a leisurely lifestyle, embodying the philosophy of "slow is fast".
Here, traditional tea culture and modern aesthetics are seamlessly blended, creating a rich sensory experience through a carefully designed environment. Time seems to slow down, allowing visitors to appreciate the finer details and beauty of life.
This is not just a tea room, but also a place to explore contemporary tea culture and re-examine life. We are committed to creating a tea culture experience that resonates with modern people, integrating life, aesthetics, and art.
Here, every cup of tea represents a dialogue with the soul, and every stay is a rethinking of life. We hope that people can find tranquility amidst their busy schedules and rediscover the poetry and rhythm of life.
This space serves as a spiritual haven for modern individuals, where they find balance and meaning in life through tea appreciation.
