Golran's first flagship store opened in Via Pontaccio 8, in the heart of Milan's Brera district, after a space redesign by Storage Associati. The old and famous carpet brand is almost seamless in one of the city's most vibrant districts, and rather than ascribe its prestige to the history books, it has been revitalized by a delightful mix of commercial, commercial and cultural events, as well as a blend of art, architecture, design, fashion and entertainment.
The brand name appears discreetly on the Windows and glass doors of two stores, framed by arched doors on the exterior walls of the 18th-century building. The black, which highlights the six elegant letters that make up Golran's name, accentuates the white as a decorative and carpet color. The "White Cube" concept, designed by Francesca Avossa Art Direction studio for the trade show installation, has been replicated since 2010 along with all the imagery and communication tools that have become the brand's signature.
Everything in this flagship store is handmade and custom designed to bring maximum functionality and utility to the minimalist simplicity of the display space, especially the suspension system, which has both walls and ceilings. This easily fits into the space and provides a practical way to move carpets. The ceiling-mounted version features sliding tracks equipped with spotlights for optimal lighting.
