Studio Modijefsky designed Gitane, an all-day restaurant, establishing the space as a welcoming community place to reflect the restaurant's sophisticated and approachable cross-cultural menu. The designers have designed a casual environment that can evolve throughout the day, and the restaurant offers brunch, lunch and dinner services. It is divided into three main sections: ground floor, mezzanine and bar.
Understanding this, the designers configured the space as a neighbourhood meeting spot, positioning it to function equally well as a place to grab a coffee and breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine and dinner at night.
The restaurant’s terrace, two dining areas and bar work to accommodate these different services, seamlessly interacting with one another to create a cohesive experience united by consistent design motifs and materials. This agility allows the space to organically accommodate the target audience: locals.
