As a generation of master architects, Tadao Ando left a unique and great vitality for the world. His works and the spirit behind them are eternal and irrepressible.. In 1995, Mr. Ando won the Pritzker Prize, architecture's highesthonor, by donating $100,000 to orphans after the 1995 Kobe earthquake.
UNESCO Meditation Space is located in Paris, France, designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The building was completed in 1995 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the entry into force of the UNESCO Constitution, which provides peace and security for all peoples. Tadao Ando designed the meditation space in this spirit, as a place where anyone, regardless of their race or religion, can have a moment of quiet reflection. Meditation space is a quiet dense space, a space filled with emptiness.
