ELDELMAR is the new restaurant by the Hermanos Torres, located in the renovated Olympic Port of Barcelona. The new seafront restaurant, overlooking Nova Icaria Beach.Trenchs Studio’s inspired by the Mediterranean, its design reflects respect for nature and the fusion of Mediterranean cultures, creating a space that blends tradition with modernity. Beyond cuisine, ELDELMAR offers a sensory experience that invites diners to connect with the roots of the Mediterranean.
ELDELMAR’s design draws from natural aspects shared by Mediterranean cultures due to their geography and climate. The concept revolves around four elements—water, air, earth, and fire—expressed symbolically and sensorially to immerse guests in the Mediterranean essence.
Layout: Fluidity Between Indoors and Outdoors.Perched atop the port, ELDELMAR boasts panoramic Mediterranean views. The main dining area features a glass facade connecting the interior to the terrace. The rear houses the showcooking kitchen, wine cellar, and bar. Near the city-facing entrance, a lounge with low tables, armchairs, and a fireplace offers a cozy retreat for private events.
Materiality and Color: Natural Textures and Tones.The design preserves the original glass structure while introducing semicircular stucco arches and wooden slats for privacy and traditional charm. Neutral sand-toned finishes—cement floors, stucco walls—contrast with vibrant green ceramic ponds, brown tiled walls, and copper accents. Native Mediterranean plants like olive trees and laurels enhance the organic ambiance.
Furniture: Artisanal Meets Modern。Custom-made furniture blends traditional materials (terracotta, sisal, raffia, marble) with contemporary shapes. Produced by local workshops, these pieces celebrate regional craftsmanship and support community artisans.
ELDELMAR Restaurant is a tribute to the Mediterranean’s cultural richness, inviting guests to savor an unforgettable experience in a spectacular seaside setting.
