Rumah Fajar, which means "house of dawn" in Indonesian, is a modern architectural interpretation of a traditional Balinese longhouse. With spectacular views of Gunung Agung, Bali's holiest volcano, the house's design and material choice are steeped in the local vernacular. Jencquel Studio began construction in August 2017, in conjunction with the eruption of the Gunung Agung volcano, and completed construction two years later in August 2019. The extensive use of volcanic stones represents the allegorical elements of the completed design, winding the huge volcano and the "grand pavilion" in its shadow. Seamlessly situated on a lush hillside and facing the rising sun, the luxurious 4 bedroom Ruma Fajar presents a humble abdaion, not so humble after all.
