Balzar Architects is a family firm that unites two generations, including Txema Garcia, his son who wanted to be an architect at the age of six, and Laura Moreno, Txema Garcia's partner. They jointly run the studio, which aims to create humanized residential buildings for human beings.
Jose Maria has more than 30 years of professional experience, creating more than 1,000 projects in his career. Graduated from the polytechnic university of valencia in Spain in 1983, he founded several design firms before founding Balzar Architects.
Txema Garcia is a young architect who graduated from the department of architecture at the university of Porto in Portugal in 2008 and published his own book (Learning From Valencia) in the same year. In 2009, he attended the school of architecture at the polytechnic university of valencia in Spain.
Txema Garcia's partner Laura Moreno, who was born in Quesa, a small mountain town in the interior of valencia, grew up in a privileged natural environment. Surrounded by handicrafts, reed ceilings, patios, house lighting, cutlery or collection of olives with family. Contact with tradition brings Laura Moreno closer to nature and daily simplicity. Laura wanted to apply this "natural" look to architecture.
The studio creates the space as an element. By removing details from the surface, light and matter, the greatest expression can be found in it. Express yourself without ornament. They designed buildings that resist the passage of time without becoming outdated. They're not just talking about architecture, they're talking about concepts.
After years of professional experience, Balzar Architects confirmed that the essence of their work is to find beauty, from the design to the final details of the building. This beauty combines all the other necessary factors: economy, functionality, durability, integration with the environment, regulation, respect for the environment, etc.
