After sharing the course, Teo Yang also gave detailed answers to the audience's questions. Please look back at the live video for details!

As a well-known Korean contemporary design leader, Teo Yang's studio focuses on high-end residential and branded commercial projects, emphasizing modern architecture and customized details, hoping to bring a new way to elegant and tailor-made interior design-modernization Blending with tradition to create a timeless and beautiful space.

Yinji:How to make a balance between life and work?
Teo Yang:In fact, I do not find a special balance between work and life. I am enthusiastic about work, not just work, but I enjoy it very much. In my life, I will constantly think about the content of work, and what I always think about in my mind is things about work and solutions.

Yinji:How to add fitness, physiotherapy and catering into such a gallery space, and how to communicate with the owners?
Teo Yang:When you know this space well, you will be very confident to communicate with the owner, when the owner sees you are very confident, he will feel that the installation of such a space will make his brand new image better, then you can easily find a common value. Then another important thing is that our world is constantly evolving and changing, so we must make the space more avant-garde, which is not necessarily the form, but the space function and ideology. Therefore, we should also let the owners know the change of The Times, instead of making new space according to the traditional thinking. Sometimes it's not necessarily a beautiful renderings, it's more important to show what research you've done to make the space better. Now we are in the period of COVID19, and you will find that our living pattern has changed again. I think it is not very difficult to persuade the owner to try new space, because our era is changing all the time, so it is a good possibility to reach an agreement with the owner.

Yinji:You've been reading and working in the West for a long time. How do you evaluate your work or reflect on your design?
Teo Yang:In fact, one of the most important aspects of my past study and work experience is that it allows me to explore, which makes me more curious and curious about design. Because when we are doing design, we actually need to have a strong curiosity and competitive heart to face life and work. I think it is important for us to learn western design, western art history and design history. In every project we do, I always think, what we do is not just our stuff, it's going to be history, it's going to be part of history, so you have to really think about where we are, what we're doing, what we're doing that might have an impact on people in the next generation.

Yinji:You work with a lot of design brands and even design Spaces, such as Fendi and LV. How do you conceive these Spaces and show them to convince the clients?
Teo Yang:I think it's important to have the same end goal. We should think about how to understand the present life. We are working with different brands in at that time, even when we have a lot of space in the design, we're always thinking about how to provide a context of modern life, at the same time of making such a thinking we will go to study is a what kind of life in the past, put it in the modern what, this is very important for us. Therefore, when we cooperate with the brand with this idea, the brand will agree with us, and then we will have a very harmonious cooperation.

Yinji:Since we have shared many projects today, each project may involve cooperation with lighting and electromechanical structure, could you please explain the division of labor among the members of your office and the situation?
Teo Yang:Actually, my office is very small, and we do a lot of projects, including some large projects like museums and art galleries. In fact, the size of the office is not the most important, but in each project to find a key problem to solve, assuming that you can quickly find the most important problem in the new project and solve it, in fact, this time you do not have to spend a lot of time. I have been thinking about being a design firm, but we are also exploring traditional cultural content, so I think what we are doing is a cross-disciplinary content. And of course I also have partners in my firm, and when we were doing the design at the very beginning, we would come up with different ideas, and we would discuss them together, and we would work with graphic designers very early on, and listen to their thoughts on the design. Is one of the important thing is that when you work together with a lot of consultant, your team is very big, of course, you will feel very proud, but the point is when your team gets bigger, you don't have a key, there is no a theme, for the design of a core, instead, that number will become one of the biggest problems.

Yinji:Is there a book or designer you like to read?
Teo Yang:I used to study in the US and was a great admirer of Frank & Bull. Lloyd & bull; Wright. Frank & bull; Lloyd & bull; Wright is one of the four masters of modernist architecture. I really like Wright's efforts to change people's life pattern in the space of the house, to reflect the possibility of this space and the future. Now many international students still go to see Wright's architectural works, which is a very amazing thing, you can imagine that the house that was built about 70 or 80 years ago still looks very modern now, so the best design really has a great impact on people's thinking and imagination for the future. In China, I have heard of famous design studios such as Ruen Design. They also combine modern architectural forms through traditional culture.

Yinji:The last question is about color. The use of color in your project is very restrained. What do you think of it?
Teo Yang:I hope very much to the color in design, but the color is the most important role is how to reach a very harmonious with the surrounding material, is not I want to use a color, I hope that these old buildings or old elements can be created through the way of the background color, Background color means very simple, very light, very soft color, at this time the old elements are more easily highlighted, this is my view of color and interior design.
