We are trying to seek the essence, relationship, truth and simple touch between architecture, space and every unit in things.

Yinji: Young designers are the mainstay of design in the circle. How did you start your design path? What do you want for your future?
Zhu: I came to the "road of design" relatively late. In a real sense, I began to sprout art in 2012 when I was studying in London. I was deeply attracted by contemporary art and religious art. Since then, I have sensed in my heart the unprecedented resonance, impact and love that art and design can bring. At the same time, I have also silently determined my lifelong career planning of art and design. As for the expectation, it is very simple in the short term. I will do every work well and try my best to make it as interesting and valuable as possible. Then I will continue my study of art and design and hope to become the best art and design worker in the world in a certain stage of my life through long-term thinking and experiments.

Yinji: I really appreciate the unique temperament of Hangzhou designers. They can generally feel the imprint of feelings in their works. Does the local environment in Hangzhou influence your design to some extent?
Zhu: I was born and raised in Hangzhou since I was a child. This land gives me a sense of quietness. There is no information shock and social activities in big cities, and most people focus on their own creations.

Yinji: How did your experience in University of the Arts London influence your diverse design?
Zhu: When studying in Lunyi, we focused on how to stretch a project cycle to a year, and the development and deduction of the process became the most important key words. Therefore, we integrated the weekly progress through the study of various media (art, music, poet, film, architecture, etc.), and carried out thinking and experiments. In addition, the group round-table teaching mode enables me not only to pay attention to my own works, but also to participate in the research direction of students from other countries as a team. Of course, London has always been the front line of contemporary art exhibitions. The latest art will be exhibited in London at the first time. Galleries and museums are the areas where students often set foot in the learning process.Yinji: How do you define Fun Unit Design as an existence?

Yinji: How do you break through and become a designer in four dimensions: architecture, interior, installation and product? What do you think of the crossover of designers?
Zhu: I have not received systematic courses. For me, buildings, interiors, installations and products are, in a sense, strongly connected and relatively vague, just different users and modes of use. Many foreign design companies will design everything from buildings to dustbins, which may be the direction we aspire to. Designers may need to have cross-boundary curiosity. At present, the high-speed synchronization of information in the world makes the design works we see better and better, but also more and more alike. This is why designers need to think across boundaries more and more, and perspective determines characteristics.
