If we consider the history of architecture through time, we can trace it back to the 8th century BC in ancient Greece. The architectural consciousness formed during this period originated from temples dedicated to the gods. The theory of balance, based on the classical aesthetics of proportion and the principles of structural symmetry, had a profound influence on later generations. It's no wonder that the aesthetic historian J. J. Winckelmann praised it as "noble in simplicity and serene in grandeur."
However, contemporary, practical architecture, independent of academic architectural traditions, presents a unique landscape. Drawing on the geographical features, climate, and cultural traditions of Greece, it has taken deep roots in the mountains and sea, developing a materiality with a strong sense of place. This expresses a closeness and friendliness to nature, advocating a natural way of life and a natural artistic approach.
As the Second Greek Mountain and Sea Art Tour of YINJISPACE, from September 29 to October 6, 2025, the 8-day, 7-night itinerary will take you deep into Athens and Mykonos Island, using venues, architecture, music, and art as media to break through the cognitive boundaries of a single discipline and establish a more complete and practical logical design system.

K Studio is an architecture and interior design firm based in Athens, Greece, founded in 2002 by Dimitris and Konstantinos Karampatakis. They specialize in creating unique and immersive spatial experiences through the integration of architecture, interiors, and hardscape design. Their core philosophy is contextual design: a deep understanding of the natural and cultural environment in which their projects are situated, emphasizing the use of local materials, craftsmanship, and resources to achieve natural, comfortable, and contemporary luxury with minimal intervention and resource consumption. They embrace the sustainable principle of "less is more," rejecting waste and respecting and drawing inspiration from traditional wisdom.
Vangelis Bonios, the inquisitive interior designer and founder of the boutique design firm Studio Bonarchi, consistently strives for harmony and balance, with his design philosophy rooted in a continuous exploration of texture, composition, color, atmosphere, and local history. Bonios holds a Master's degree in Interior Design from Milan, where he studied under Professor Patricia Viel, co-founder of Antonio Citterio and Partners. This valuable experience exposed him to high-end projects such as the Bulgari Hotel from an early stage through a creative lens, fostering his keen eye for high-quality materials and clean, pure lines.
Lambs and Lions is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Berlin, Germany. Founded in 2012 by founder Michael Schickinger, the studio specializes in interiors, architecture, hospitality design, art direction, and branding services. A key partner of K Studio and overall creative director of the Casa Cook brand, the studio aims to create poetic ambiances imbued with tranquility and warmth, while providing the best architectural and soft furnishing solutions.

The team blends Greek and Scandinavian traditions with interdisciplinary experience to create confident, natural, and timeless work. The studio has won numerous high-profile awards and has been widely featured in Greek and international media.
Born on Crete, Eva Papadaki imbues the urban spirit of Athens with the freedom of the Mediterranean. Her childhood in the mountains shaped her core aesthetic: the warmth of her grandparents' handmade bread, the feel of bare feet on the earth, the scent of vanilla carried by the wind, crystallizing it into a belief in the power of simplicity. She deeply loves Athens's "creative anarchy": the vibrant energy of the streets, the multicultural interweaving of international artists, and a dream-building space vaster than even an island. This fusion of natural wildness and urban energy perfectly reflects her: both a barefoot islander and a poet of the concrete jungle.
Athenian artist Theodore Psychoyos's practice revolves around the forces of material gravity. His works combine primitive forms with smooth surfaces, exploring the delicate relationship between gravity and balance through their dialogue. Often manifesting in the material form of stools, benches, and tables, his works imbue themselves with a sense of heaviness, challenging our adaptation to our surroundings.
Maria Tsimpiskaki believes jewelry design is a combination of line, color, and material, each the result of a specific frame of mind, a distinct psychological, and emotional state. It's the lines, forms, and shapes we encounter in nature, on the street, in everyday life, or even in images triggered in our minds. It's the inherent color of the material, which almost always requires special processing to bring it out...
Nikolaos Unalome is a Greek healer dedicated to mind-body awakening, whose practice blends the ancient wisdom of the East and the West. Rooted in Ashtanga and Hatha yoga, and pranayama, he has gradually expanded into Thai massage, fascial therapy, and Ayurveda, becoming proficient in Abhyanga massage and Panchakarma. In recent years, he has focused on sonic vibrational healing, becoming one of the few masters of the Bilas (high-frequency vibrating flat bell) worldwide. Through improvisation and integration of various instruments, he creates immersive sound therapy experiences that transcend genres, guiding listeners into transcendental states of consciousness.
Located in Costa Navarino, in the southwestern Peloponnese, Villa Sounthwand, named after the Nordic tradition of "leaning against the south wall to bask in the sun," pays homage to the Messinian stone tower heritage. Drawing inspiration from the traditional settlements of the Mani region, the design reconstructs folk architectural wisdom through a modular, orthogonal modular composition: nine stone cubes interlock and shift to create negative spaces, courtyards, corridors, and plazas, reminiscent of the organically grown texture of Greek villages. The modules can be extended single-story or stacked vertically, giving the space infinite variability.
Perched on the southern slopes of Kalamata's olive grove community, Villa Velika's five-bedroom villa features an innovative, parallel double-wing architecture that deconstructs modern living philosophy. The private wing houses the master suite and family bedrooms. The master bedroom features panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, a luxurious marble bathroom, and a walk-in closet, framing the golf green and the Ionian Sea as a flowing mural. The four family bedrooms each have their own bathroom, and the guest bedroom enjoys its own private entrance. The public wing houses the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen areas, with full-height glass walls seamlessly blending the exterior and interior views.
Tucked away on the Aleomandra ridge in Mykonos, the six-bedroom, pristine white volume appears to emerge from the rock formations. The building unfolds as a trio: two geometric cubes painted in traditional limewash and a rough, locally sourced stone base enclose a central courtyard. A lightweight chestnut latticework cantilevers over the courtyard, creating a 700-square-meter "canvas of light and shadow," framing the Mykonos sunset as a dynamic mural. A stone retaining wall acts as a natural barrier, shielding the property from the road behind while also channeling the sea breeze through the residence.
Escape the bustling pulse of Mykonos, nestled in a tranquil coastal valley, En Kyanó redefines the perfect fusion of luxury living, longevity science, and wellness. Here, the soothing blue of the Aegean dances in the sunlight, unfurling into an infinite canvas where sea meets sky. In this idyllic landscape, indulgent moments of rest give way to deep experiences of restoration and longevity. It's more than just a residence; it's a state of mind—a place to lose yourself and find yourself. Like a summer retreat for a friend, the atmosphere is relaxed, intimate, and uniquely elegant.
10AM, a multifaceted spatial experiment created by Eva in the renovation of a former printing factory over eight years, is a transformation. Adhering to the philosophy of "letting the building breathe," she stripped away the camouflage to reveal the original concrete columns, rusted steel frames, and century-old wooden beams, transforming the industrial scars into striking decorative elements. The space is deconstructed into four narratives: the penthouse serves as Eva's private haven for her collection of Cretan memories; four lofts, encasing the warmth of pottery and linens within Brutalist frames; the basement concept store, 10AM Apotheke, showcases scented objects forged in the Greek earth; and the atrium becomes a mobile stage connecting the creative community.
Perched majestically on a ridge along the western coast of Mykonos, Kalesma Mykonos's 25 stark white suites and two villas are scattered along the slopes, resembling a contemporary village naturally emerging from the Cycladic soil. Its name, meaning "invitation" in Greek, embodies the hotel's philosophy of breaking down barriers to luxury. Unenclosed stone paths connect the rough-hewn limestone buildings, each room tilted precisely 15 degrees to frame the azure blue of Hornos Bay as a timeless backdrop.
Originally, the Manna Hotel was a sanatorium designed by a Swiss architect and built in the late 1920s by the charitable organization "Soldier's Mother." The architecture abandoned the classical aesthetic prevalent in the region at the time, opting for a more figurative Central European architectural style. After 1938, specialized sanatoriums became obsolete, and the sanatorium was abandoned.
Perched high on the charming island of Mykonos, ANANDES Hotel, with its dazzling whitewashed houses and breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea, aspires to define a new style for the Cyclades. Designed by Studio Bonarchi, the project, with confident taste and creativity, reinterprets the island's rich traditions through a contemporary lens, harmoniously blending them with avant-garde modern design.
Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, the first hotel in Greece, proudly stands on the historic Navarino Bay. Its design philosophy is centered on understated seclusion, aiming to blend with, rather than dominate, the Peloponnese's magnificent natural surroundings: the Ionian Sea, Vasiliki Island, and lush, century-old olive groves. Eschewing towering, monolithic buildings, the hotel adopts a minimalist design and a dispersed layout, strategically tucking its 99 suites and villas among the sloping land, gardens, and trees. This unassuming gesture ensures the complex virtually disappears from the landscape when viewed from the sea or from afar, while offering each residence a deep sense of privacy and exclusive, undisturbed views of nature, creating an ambiance of seclusion.
One&Only Aesthesis has been gloriously reborn on the Athenian Riviera, nestled within a 21-hectare beachfront reserve, home to the legendary Asteria Beach Club, a gathering place for celebrities in the 1950s. Paying tribute to history, three architectural firms (AUDO, A6 Architects, and K-Studio) meticulously recreated the original site: a central, curved main building rises precisely on the plinth of the former open-air restaurant, while the 127 villas follow the original footprints of the legendary lodges. K-Studio's ingenious "stitching philosophy" is particularly striking: traditional Greek lattice screens are transformed into the building's skin, gently filtering the dazzling "diamond light" of the Attica peninsula. A double skylight dome and panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows create a "container of light," framing the Aegean Sea and the main pool as a dynamic mural.
