The ideal weekender is a magical home, where the rest of the world falls away and time slows down. To create that magic for this new build, Arent Pyke took the surrounding landscape and garden by Paul Bangay, which hums with bees and butterflies as their muse. For the interior design, they conjured up a timeless homestead where comfort and elegance welcome family and friends, and a lifetime of memories are created.

Pistachio and forest greens, and soft neutral tones throughout the home speak to the views outside. However in the living and dining, the bold large scale contemporary artworks are allowed to take centre stage and rightly shape the identity and atmosphere of the home.

With three boys and family and friends descending on the house most weekends, a luxurious master suite to retreat to was an imperative.   Stepping into another world, thanks to a scenic wallpaper and midnight blue on the walls, the suite’s lounge setting, fireplace and bath evoke the best luxury hotel experience.

The kitchen evokes a country house ambience cast through a modern lens.   Nods to tradition appear in elements such as glass-fronted upper cabinets, the timber legs and frame of the island, as well as the addition of V-shaped grooved panels to the ceiling.
