Changing family circumstances and new priorities brought Arent Pyke back to this beloved project, to pick up the thread of artisanal craft and materiality, transforming Legato House in significant ways, and evolving and enhancing our original design and decoration.
The contemporary Australian beach house vernacular and bush setting of this home have been honoured while incorporating timeless design and global influences from mid-century Scandinavian to Japanese minimalism, and classic Mediterranean – all represented. The result is confident, authentic, and casual and therefore, unmistakably Australian.
Now a home with two significant living areas, the character and purpose of each is distinct yet complimentary.“Arent Pyke was keen to bridge the living area and the kitchen with a sculptural element and this creates a lovely interplay of layers and lines – it’s a truly bespoke monument to craft and materiality. The result is a calming, serene home that, come twilight, just glows.
