Armadale House

Located on the outskirts of Melbourne, this exquisite Armadale house represents the perfect balance between interior and architecture, minimalist subtlety and charm. The house was built in collaboration with two renowned Australian design studios :Conrad Architects, who was the driving force behind the building; And Mim Design, which is responsible for interior Design. The result is Armadale House, a streamlined, balanced and timeless family home built with quality materials.
The architects responded to this brief design with grand, classical proportions and open, opaque surfaces, providing an elegant rhythm to the facade. A key example is the colonnade on the facade, which is made of limestone and not only provides a visually strong grid that emphasizes verticality and defines the overall appearance of the house, but also cleverly creates space for a range of details using bronze French doors, railings, planter boxes and shutters.
Inside, a general sense of calm and minimalistic luxury dominates. The designers used simple lines and surfaces to manage the open areas defined by graphic elements through fabrics, for example, the entire flowing curtain and key features, such as sculptures, curved staircases.
The house is defined by a linear circular spine before and after the direct connection and provides a separation between public and private areas. The open-plan kitchen, living and dining area unfolds as a sun-filled and luxurious living space, framing views of manicured gardens.
