This' 70s apartment in Udine, Italy, was designed by Milanese designer Cristina Celestino, whose genius is that her interiors give you space to notice these things, but none of them upset the balance of the others.
Located in a brutalist concrete building designed by architect Bodini Massimo Camillo in 1978, the apartment was renovated as a colorful pied-a-Terre for a couple who lived mainly in rural Venice.
The building itself mixes a stiff aesthetic with a soft one, from the rose-textured plaster over the stairwell to the circular canopy at the main entrance to reflect this in the apartment. Cristina Celestino is particularly fond of the matte black wood doorframes and footboards, which provide a contrast to the sweet feel of Celestino's brick-colored Boucle sofa and her scalloped Frisee chair for Billiani. Retro silver accessories and rattan decorate the space perfectly.
