This apartment was created for a stylish woman and her twenty-something daughter beginning a new chapter on life’s journey. The razzle dazzle pattern of the foyer’s wallpaper was a play on the architecture of the great Art Deco building this unit is in. Proceeding into the living/dining room, Drake Anderson chose to use the entire south facing end of the room as the salon, taking full advantage of the views. The dining area was placed by the fireplace, flanked by bookcases, making it a unique and charming experience. Salmon, coral, and russet are the primary colors. Dark and dramatic pieces in graphite, coal and raven connect to the foyer.
The walls here are a cool contrast to the main living spaces, painted in a unique finish incorporating eyeshadow powder to create beautiful iridescence. A screen upholstered in a hydrangea pattern adds a garden to the corner. The main bedroom is dramatically wrapped in a wallcovering based on a hand painted watercolor, creating a delirious dreamscape. Drake Anderson floated the supersonic, super sexy bed in the room, close to the corner windows, and this allowed their to create a dressing area behind it by the closets. The secondary bedroom was designed to be a chic, sophisticated lair for the daughter, and future guests. Dark, inky night-sky walls are in polished plaster.
