Dreessen Willemse renovated a concrete Villa 22 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. As the connecting element, water not only plays a unified role in the construction process of pouring concrete, but also plays a defining role in the way the villa is experienced and perceived.
The house is situated on a hill in the foreshore countryside of the leafy Meuse river. The slender design provides security and provides a unique living experience alternating with privacy and transparency. The Villa 22 was inspired by the specific location of the building, located on a slope of 22 degrees. By pure coincidence, the house number is also 22.
A villa is defined as a contemplative feature in which one can look inwards into the building and outwards into the surrounding natural beauty. In the bedroom, the concrete gives off an almost silken appearance. Not only is the construction potential of concrete fully realized, but the aesthetic expression of the material is also subtly revealed on the surface.
Concrete is known to harden by adding water. Water provides the strength that gives this design its unique character. Water not only plays a leading role in this building, but most importantly in life. This makes villa 22 villa life, life plays an important role in style and comfort.
