Creating aesthetics from nothingness, the designer embedded exquisiteness and effulgence mostly under the dim lights. A lingering charm beyond words is thus born from the poetic ambience. Here, beauty does not come from the objects we see but the shadow, lightness, ripples in between them.

The title “Nebula” symbolizes the infinite prosperity that goes far away and beyond. Just as the essence of literary gathering in history, what matters the most in this design is the casualness, the conciseness, the comfort and serenity generated during the process. Thus, different shades of colors are applied to create a peaceful stillness. Completing the space’s simplicity and conciseness, an environment is born for one to sense the beauty of a downshifting lifestyle in tranquility. The delicate lighting design in the enormous space offers a sufficient glow with spatial fluidity. The basic concepts of contrast, balance, symmetry, proportion, rhythm, and patterns, are applied for diverse arrangements of objects.

Calligrapher Yang Xiaojian is an innovator in modern Chinese calligraphy. His bold application of Western abstract expressionism gives a new life to traditional Chinese calligraphy. Therefore, his novel expressionistic language gets him a brand-new identity: The Ink Beast.

In this case, the ink and wash elements echo perfectly with the minimalist interior style. The charm of Zen is expanded through integration of lighting and variable substances. Repeating or pausing, wandering, passing by, or interacting, one can enjoy the aesthetics of art, lighting and shadow here. With different perspectives, one can have different experiences in the same space. The contrast of light and shadow outline the spatial perception much more clearly than usual. Between bulkiness and lightness, one can take a seat for a sip, enjoying the zen atmosphere under exquisite lighting design. Delicateness, mottle, graininess and organicness of the vegetation all interwave into an artistic symphony in the space.

Such a corner of space for exhibition can expand the world of art. By introducing plantation into a harmonious room with warmth, the designer blurs the boundary in between the interior and the exterior. Each unique artwork’s display and every beam of lighting all reflect the leisure atmosphere in the space of “Nebula.” Strolling through the simple yet exquisite wooden flooring, one can feel the generosity and airiness in between each turn. Forget about the characters we play in life, set the position in the most comfortable balance to embrace the moment.

The whole space is neat and concise with selective and delicate textures. Through a combination of wooden material and copper imitation stainless steel, variable multilayers are created. The introduction of Chen Qi’s work Code of Nature depicts the lively aesthetics  of ripples to slow down the pace of the surroundings. Focusing on the expression of natural elements, the bonsai application establishes a sense of oriental garden. Wooden flooring, marble table, and the plants used all compose an one and only landscape inside.
