A bakery Coconca in hijimaiguchi, designed by local design studio Hiroshi Nakamura&NAP. The bakery's facade is made up of 1,630 pieces of glass shingles with a shimmering light theme. In the plan, half of the building facing the road was cut off and a green courtyard was installed. Small wavy tiles lay on the floor like a vast ocean.
Hiroshi Nakamura, one of Japan's new generation of architects, is known for his "reluctance to cut down trees" design philosophy. Nakamura believes that protecting nature is a matter of assessing economic feasibility and implementing scientific research. In recent years, he has been fascinated by traditional Japanese architecture and garden culture, which share the same essence as his design principles, and has successfully incorporated and reinterpreted some of the iconic elements into his work.
