On the 35th floor of the new Steinway Tower (opening in 2021), in the heart of Manhattan, interior design studio Husband Wife has created a luxurious flat with breathtaking views over Central Park in a refined, eclectic and unpretentious style.
Elegant and understated, the entrance hall, clad in dark aubergine walls, emphasises the breathtaking view of Central Park and the former Barbizon-Plaza hotel from the living room. The wall features an Art Deco-inspired shelf by Husband Wife.
In the lounge, pieces of eucalyptus wood, designed by the studio in the spirit of Art Deco, conceal bar furniture behind the benches. The shelves are lined with a pair of hand-painted Gothic candlesticks, a bronze statue, Space Age table lamps in brushed steel and opaline from Italy (1970), and a carved and painted wooden fertility statue from Ghana. Bronze side table by Lothar Klute.
In this luxurious living environment, the "Steinway Tower flat" is all about refinement and comfort. In this discreet tribute,Husband Wife have concentrated on elegant materials full of character, such as black lacquered surfaces, varnished eucalyptus wood, bronze, fused glass, raffia and ramie cloth.
