The home balances both private and more revealing elements throughout. K.P.D.O. has created a sense of journey as one moves through the spaces, using a mix of curved openings and more linear elements to define the different areas in subtle ways. The curved openings initially soften the transition between more formal spaces and encourage a sense of connection between each. The warm and neutral travertine tone flooring running underneath brings individual veining and texture to the interior, whilst also reinforcing the resilience needed for family life.

As avid lovers of jazz, being able to create space for a grand piano in the front room and allow for other formal and informal gathering areas was an integral part of the brief for the owners.Combining the somewhat discreet with the more saturated, Toorak House 2 is a celebration of life and of the liveliness of a social home.
