Kashin Osuga is the renewal project of the Japanese candy owner's shop, which was founded in 1953 and is located at the foot of the castle in Shiga Prefecture, Hikone City. "We have to use good ingredients," was the former president's signature phrase. So design studio Koyori's theme is to express commitment and worldview with carefully chosen building materials, the origins of confectionary making that is still celebrated today.
Like a candy bar and a long-used tool crafted by artisans, the inside and outside of the shop is made of traditional construction methods, natural materials and handmade from the inside out. Through the streamlining of internal and external functions, the removal of unnecessary things, feel the undecorated gentle atmosphere of large snacks, sweet nestled in the candy plain, and obedient coexistence, add color for the whole. Koyori is excited to carve time, new memories and history here.
