Oguraya Yamamoto Co. Ltd., a long-established store that produces and sells kelp, is a commercial that creates a new through food in the old non-rebuildable residential area left over from the Shinsaibashi Minami Shipyard in the center of Osaka Community. This is a facility rebirth project, designed by design studio Koyori, with the aim of creating a place to serve as a point of contact between the city and its people.
To embody both, the facility is built according to a spatial concept where elements of the past and present intersect. At the end of a long narrow cobblestone alley, bordered by a busy road, there is a closed building and an entrance. When you muster the courage to open the door, you will find that it is a wet and sexy space that makes you feel the romance of the Meiji and Taisho eras.
Re-edited with a modern sensibility using traditional craftsmanship and decorative materials, the dilapidated old residential area is brought back to life as an Osaka-style building. It will be a new meeting place for adults, and the community created here will be an asset to the city.
