White Apartment is designed by Russia designer Maria Edinaya. The flat, spanning 350 square meters over two levels, boasts a serene atmosphere with its predominantly white tones and a charming terrace, situated in the heart of Saint Petersburg. This haven of tranquility serves as the ideal backdrop for a young family, offering a beautiful interior that reflects a story of resilience and hope. It represents a joyful transformation following a series of setbacks, signifying a fresh start for the married couple who endured their share of disappointments.
The journey towards this inviting space began with a referral to designer Maria Edinaya, sought out by the clients after a previous encounter with a designer that fell short of their expectations. Despite a generous budget, their prior experience left them disillusioned with the result, marked by subpar finishing materials and generic furnishings. In contrast, Maria Edinaya's approach resonated with the couple's desire for authenticity and sophistication, drawing inspiration from the refined yet artful ambiance of American model and TV personality Kylie Jenner's home.
The essence of the design revolves around a concept of off-white, creating an ambiance of purity and elegance while incorporating rich textures and distinctive forms. Maria Edinaya, reflecting on the project, emphasizes the absence of a specific stylistic label, highlighting instead the fusion of minimalism with the client's preference for an artistic environment. This amalgamation culminates in the aptly named "White Apartment," a testament to the harmonious blend of simplicity, sophistication, and personal expression.
