The house is set on a plateau on a steep slope on the Cote Brava in northeastern Catalonia, surrounded by pine trees and with panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. The road to the house is dominated by sun visors. A single aperture with sandblasted wooden doors opens to a framed view of the interior and the shore beyond. The design celebrates the length of the house through a unique horizontal opening. The volume includes a deep canopy that provides shade and connects the living and sleeping Spaces into a single form.
Deep holes in the tree canopies provide a game of light and shadow as the sun crosses the sky during the day. Full-height glass doors lead to the rear of the living wing, allowing a seamless transition between the interior and exterior. A spacious terrace opens to an infinity pool with views of the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. The walls, overall white flooring and oak joinery form a restrained tone that amplifies the intensity of the coastal environment.
